What are the government guidelines to renting?

You have certain rights and responsibilities if you’re a tenant in privately rented property.

Will my room be inspected?

Your room / household will be inspected at least 3 times during your tenancy. During these inspections we check for cleanliness, damage and for missing items. At each inspection you will be informed of any charges and these will be deducted from your deposit.

Do I have to move out after the Christmas and Easter holiday?

No, your room is yours for the duration of your tenancy.

You only have to move out of your room at the end of the agreement.

When will I get my deposit back?

Your deposit is registered with a government approved tenancy deposit scheme and as long as your room is clean, no items are missing, no damage has been caused during your stay, and all bills have been paid, you will get your deposit back within 1 month of the end of your tenancy.

Is parking available?

There is a small amount of parking available at most accommodation, otherwise permits can be obtained from the local council.

All accommodation is centrally located so we do recommend not to bring a car.

Is there a laundry?

In the 4 / 6 bedroomed properties a washing machine is provided.
There are no additional charges in any properties. All included in the rental cost.

Do I need a TV licence?

A communal TV licence has been paid for in each property. If you watch TV within your own room, you are required by law to purchase your own separate licence.

What is the policy in guests staying in my room?

You may have occasional overnight guests. Please do not invite someone to stay for more than 2 consecutive nights and always check with your flatmates first.
